Marketing and communications executive

We are recruiting for a marketing and communications executive based out of Liverpool, Manchester or Wrexham.

Job purpose

The marketing and communications executive will develop and deliver targeted communications to key audiences as the marketing and communications lead for sub-brand FW Capital. The post holder will be a ‘marketing all rounder’ and be able to draw on their marketing experience  to develop good working relationships with internal teams based in regional offices and external stakeholders.  They will also  develop comprehensive market knowledge and maximise opportunities to create and maintain positive awareness.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an integrated marketing communications plan for the FW Capital brand across PR, marketing and online channels.
  • Co-ordinate resources to deliver the marketing communications plan including social media, events, hospitality, website management and content for PR and marketing materials.
  • Develop relationships with key media to secure and grow coverage for the brand across targeted outlets and channels.
  • Develop, implement and report on targeted intergrated campaigns.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders, in particular delivering on marketing and communication elements of fund management contracts. Be responsible for the day-to-day management of stakeholder engagement ensuring they are kept informed of activities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders/FW Capital teams to identify PR opportunities.
  • Manage a range of third party suppliers.
  • Ensure relevant FW Capital content is published on the intranet and website and kept up to date.
  • Undertake and deliver other tasks as directed by the Communications Manager, including supporting colleagues in the communications team and the FW Capital investment team, with activities to meet departmental and operations needs.

Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience

Essential 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant marketing communications;
  • Experience of writing briefs, drafting and reviewing PR, developing relationships with journalists, selling and managing freelancers/third party suppliers;
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills, evidencing leadership skills and experience of liaising with senior stakeholders and external suppliers;
  • Good knowledge and experience of developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns;
  • Good knowledge and experience of coordinating events;
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing including email, social and websites;
  • Experience of using different IT applications/packages, including MS Office applications, CRM, SharePoint and web-based content management systems;
  • Tenacity and personal drive to achieve objectives with high-quality outcomes;
  • Innovative thinking self-starter who is self-motivated and has a flexible attitude to achieving high quality outcomes;
  • Good team player who is able to assume different roles when appropriate and has experience of building cross-departmental teams/relationships;
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal skills;
  • Strong organisational/planning skills and attention to detail;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to prioritise work under pressure.

Desirable

  • Proven capability and demonstrable experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial services sector;
  • A good understanding of FW Capital’s role in the economy, industry and commerce as well as SMEs’ investment needs;
  • Recognised marketing qualification (preferably CIM diploma) or willing to study for a relevant marketing qualification;
  • Full driving licence.
