Kandoo Adventures secured a £500,000 investment from NPIF II – FW Capital Debt Finance, managed by FW Capital as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, to support a management buyout and future growth plans.

The funding enabled Sam Holland and Gareth O'Rourke to complete the buyout of the Penrith-based adventure travel specialist, bringing the business back under Cumbrian ownership.

Kandoo Adventures is an ABTA and ATOL registered provider of high-altitude adventure travel, offering expeditions across 23 destinations worldwide, including Mount Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu, Bhutan and Aconcagua.

Sustainability remains a key focus for the business through the Kandoo Himalaya Foundation, which supports communities in the Himalayas and received contributions from every participant joining a Himalayan trek.
