Max Woodhouse

I work closely with businesses across the North of England to provide tailored loan funding that supports growth, investment, and long‑term resilience. My focus is on understanding the ambitions of the business owners and management teams I work with and helping them access the right funding to move forward with confidence. Every investment is about people. I work with business owners to find funding that fits - so they can focus on moving forward.

Before joining FW Capital, I advised business owners on maximising value through acquisitions, disposals, and strategic investments. In my role as a lead adviser, my work involved financial analysis, valuations, due‑diligence support, and guiding management teams through complex decision‑making processes. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the challenges growing businesses face, as well as the opportunities that effective funding can unlock.

I began my career in audit and accounts after graduating from Northumbria University with First‑Class Honours and qualified as a Chartered Accountant early in my career. I later progressed into corporate finance, contributing to transactions across a wide range of sectors, including technology, leisure and hospitality, professional services, manufacturing, and specialist engineering. This blend of technical expertise and hands‑on deal experience helps me assess funding opportunities in a practical, commercially focused way.

Supporting business owners is what I enjoy most about my role. Every investment has the potential to make a meaningful impact on a business, its people, and the wider region, and being part of that journey is hugely rewarding. I’m committed to helping businesses across the North of England access the funding they need to grow, innovate, and achieve their long‑term goals.

Outside of work, I’m a keen home cook. Before moving into finance, I worked as a sous‑chef, and although I’ve swapped professional kitchens for spreadsheets, I still spend much of my free time trying new dishes or visiting restaurants across the region. I’m also a lifelong Newcastle United fan and, for my sins, a season‑ticket holder.
