This September, the Development Bank of Wales and FW Capital are launching one of the most ambitious charity challenges in our history—a nationwide relay connecting all our Group offices using only non-motorised transport.

From rollerblades to rowing boats, bicycles to dog walks, colleagues will be covering hundreds of miles across four routes, all converging in Wrexham on 30th September.

The goal? To raise £5,000 for our charity of the year, bigmoose—a remarkable organisation that provides fast and effective therapy for people struggling with mental health, homelessness, or suicidal thoughts. Every mile travelled and every pound raised will help fund life-changing support for those who need it most.

The challenge kicks off on 25th September, with teams setting off from Bristol, Sheffield, Billingham, and Llandudno. Each route is split into manageable “legs,” allowing colleagues to take part in whatever way suits them best—whether that’s a brisk walk, a scenic cycle, or even a horseback ride. There’s no minimum distance, making this an inclusive event for all fitness levels.

“This is more than just a fundraiser,” said Sian Price, Research and Partnership Manager. “It’s a chance to connect across the Group, get outdoors, and support a charity that’s making a real difference in people’s lives. We’re calling on everyone—colleagues, friends, families, and supporters—to help us reach our target.”

Let’s make every step, spin, and stride count. Together, we can move mountains for mental health. You can donate via our JustGiving page Development Bank of Wales and FW Capital is fundraising for bigmoose.
