Double Puc

“We’re grateful for the backing from FW Capital and the South West Investment Fund. Ben Donati has worked closely with us and been very pragmatic in his approach, taking the time to understand our business and offer competitive terms that work for small businesses like ours.”

Ed Brown, Co-founder, Double Puc

Bristol-based independent café and hospitality brand Double Puc secured a six-figure funding boost to accelerate its growth.

The investment was provided by the British Business Bank’s South West Investment Fund through appointed fund manager FW Capital. The funding supported Double Puc’s expansion into outside catering, giving the business the working capital needed to meet rising demand and increase capacity to secure new contracts.

Double Puc was founded in 2021 by Ed Brown and Griff Holland, the former founders of café chain Friska. Both are passionate hospitality professionals committed to delivering sustainable hospitality through locally sourced fresh food and speciality coffee.

The business operates five cafés across Bristol — one standalone site at The Eye and four in-house café partnerships within iconic venues, including the science museum We The Curious, Wake the Tiger, OVO Energy, and most recently, The Crescent in Bristol’s Temple Quarter.

Double Puc’s outside catering division served a range of blue-chip clients across the city. With demand continuing to rise, the business sought funding to support its rapid growth.
