FW Capital

FW Capital, one of the UK’s largest regional fund managers, has welcomed a new recruit to its team that is focused on delivering finance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the South West.

Bill Vince joins FW Capital to help deliver vital funding to regional SMEs via the British Business Bank's South West Investment Fund. To date, the fund has delivered critical financing across a variety of sectors.

FW Capital manages the Fund’s debt finance for the north of the region, providing commercial loans to businesses in Bristol, Gloucestershire, North and North East Somerset and Wiltshire.

Bill brings over 32 years’ experience in financial services joining FW Capital from his previous role as a Restructuring Director at BDO LLP.  He has considerable experience working with SMEs across the South West and Wales and prior to BDO LLP worked for PwC LLP in Bristol and KPMG LLP in New Zealand.

Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in working closely with SMEs to navigate complex financial landscapes and to help them unlock growth.

Bill Vince, Investment Executive at FW Capital said: “I’m looking forward to making a real impact and using my experience working with businesses who are looking to invest in further growth and maximise new market opportunities. At the heart of my role is supporting the economy and encouraging job creation and the team at FW Capital has a great track record of success, breaking down barriers to access funding for many of the region’s SMEs.”

David Goodall, FW Capital Fund Manager added: “Bill is a fantastic addition to our team, bringing top-tier financial credentials, a proven track record and an extensive network. The insight he offers will directly benefit our clients as they navigate growth and expansion. His arrival further highlights our regional presence and dedication to fuelling business growth across the South West.”

The South West Investment Fund covers the entire South West region and provides loans from £25k to £2m and equity investment up to £5m to help small and medium sized businesses to start up, scale up or stay ahead. Fund manager FW Capital provides debt finance using the South West Investment Fund to businesses in Bristol, Gloucestershire, North and North East Somerset and Wiltshire.

The purpose of the South West Investment Fund is to drive sustainable economic growth by supporting innovation and creating local opportunity for new and growing businesses across the region. It is increasing the supply and diversity of early-stage finance, providing funds to firms that might otherwise not receive investment and helping to break down barriers in access to finance.
