A Salisbury home care provider has received a six figure-funding boost to accelerate growth, creating 150 new jobs, improve training facilities and support potential acquisition activity.

Spire Homecare has received this investment from the British Business Bank's South West Investment Fund via appointed fund manager FW Capital.

Spire Homecare provides homecare and live-in-care services enabling their clients to continue to live as independently as possible in their own home. Headquartered in Salisbury the firm also has offices in Trowbridge, Frome, Yeovil and Midsomer Norton. It has provided care services for 10 years in December and operates across Salisbury, Warminster, Westbury, Trowbridge, Devizes, Melksham, Frome, Yeovil, Midsomer Norton, Keynsham and Bath.

Luke Donohue, Managing Director at Spire Homecare said: “"For nearly 10 years now, our team has been providing high-quality care in Salisbury. In response to a growing demand for our services, we are expanding our team by creating 150 new roles. Furthermore, we are enhancing our training programmes and actively exploring additional strategic acquisitions to strengthen our offering. With this investment from the South West Investment Fund through FW Capital, we are well positioned to achieve these ambitions."

Ben Donati, Investment Executive at FW Capital said: “Spire Homecare is a well-established family-run business entering a dynamic phase of growth. It’s great to support their expansion ambitions as they scale operations, pursue strategic acquisitions, and strengthen their local impact by creating 150 new jobs.”

Lizzy Upton, Senior Investment Manager at the British Business Bank, said: “Spire Homecare is an ambitious business with clear plans for the future. This investment will help create new jobs, strengthen training and support the company’s expansion in the region. We’re pleased to see the South West Investment Fund supporting the business as it continues to grow.”

The South West Investment Fund covers the entire South West region and provides loans from £25k to £2m and equity investment up to £5m to help small and medium sized businesses to start up, scale up or stay ahead. Fund manager FW Capital provides debt finance using the South West Investment Fund to businesses in Bristol, Gloucestershire, North and North East Somerset and Wiltshire.

The purpose of the South West Investment Fund is to drive sustainable economic growth by supporting innovation and creating local opportunity for new and growing businesses across the region. It is increasing the supply and diversity of early-stage finance, providing funds to firms that might otherwise not receive investment and helping to break down barriers in access to finance.
